Drama Of Own Death For Insurance Policy, Gave Lift To Unknown Person In Car And Killed Him

Digital Desk, New Delhi. In Latur, Maharashtra, a bank recovery agent, in the greed of getting an insurance policy of Rs 1 crore, made such a dreadful plan that everyone was stunned.

In fact, he burnt an innocent hitchhiker alive in his car, so that the world would think he was dead. Meanwhile his family kept crying, but the message sent to his girlfriend revealed the whole secret. The police have caught the murderer.

In the early hours of Sunday, police in Ausa taluka received information that a car was completely burnt and there was a burnt body inside. When we talked to the owner of the car, it came to light that he had given the car to his relative Ganesh Chavan. Chavan had not returned home and his phone was also switched off. The police felt that the body was that of Chavan.

Latur SP Amol Tamble said that from the initial facts it seemed that the person who died was Chavan. The family was informed and everyone was in mourning. But the next day some things started appearing in the investigation.

Message sent to girlfriend became the turning point of investigation

Police investigated Chavan's personal life and found out that he was having an affair with a woman. When the woman was interrogated, a big revelation came to light. After the incident, Chavan was messaging and chatting with her from another number. It became clear that Chavan is alive. Now the question arose as to whose dead body was burnt in the car? Then the police tracked the second number. Tracking it, the police reached Kolhapur, then Chavan was arrested in Vijaydurg, Sindhudurg.

During interrogation, Ganesh Chavan revealed the whole truth. He had taken a life insurance policy of Rs 1 crore. He told that to repay the huge loan of the house, he planned to stage a death drama. For this he needed a corpse which looked like him.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, he gave lift to a hitchhiker named Govind Yadav at Tuljapur T-junction of Ausa. Yadav was under the influence of alcohol, Chavan took advantage of this opportunity. Both of them stopped at a dhaba and had food. Then the car was stopped on Vanwada Pati-Vanwada road and the crime was committed.

How was the crime committed?

Yadav had slept in the car after having food at the dhaba. Chavan dragged him to the driver's seat and fastened his seatbelt. Then they placed matchsticks and plastic bags on the seat and set it on fire. To mislead the police and family, he left his bracelet near the dead body. The car was burnt to ashes due to fire and the body was burnt so badly that it became difficult to identify.

Police have registered a case of murder. SP Tamble said that investigation is going on, it will be seen whether Chavan had any accomplice.
