Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. To improve the traffic system in the city, the activities of making Pilibhit Bypass Road eight-lane through satellite are increasing. It has been decided that Bareilly Development Authority will get it constructed. The responsibility of making the estimate has been entrusted to the Public Works Department (PWD).

In this sequence, the Forest Department and the Electricity Department have been instructed to conduct a survey and assess how many trees and pillars are coming on the road. Both the departments have started its survey. The report will be submitted to the Divisional Commissioner this week. Last year, an estimate was made to make the Satellite-Pilibhit bypass road six-lane.

The Public Works Department had made an estimate of Rs 206 crore and sent a proposal to the government for widening and beautification of 7.420 km road, in which a proposal of Rs 6 crore from the Forest Department was also included. Later, BDA also sent the proposal on the basis of the same estimate.

Till now both the proposals have not been approved, but in the meantime, Divisional Commissioner Bhupendra S Chaudhary, in consultation with BDA and Public Works Department officials, has started the process of making it eight lanes. It has been decided that it will be constructed by BDA. PWD engineers are preparing the estimate again.

To include the estimates of Forest Department and Electricity Department in this, survey report has also been sought from these departments. The teams of Forest Department under the direction of DFO Deeksha Bhandari and Electricity Department under the direction of Chief Engineer Gyan Prakash are conducting the survey. It is being claimed that the report will be sent to the Divisional Commissioner this week. Based on the survey report, the estimate will be finalized and the proposal will be sent to the government.

An estimate is being made to convert Satellite-Pilibhit bypass road into eight lanes. The proposal for six-lane construction from Satellite to Barrier-II was sent in the last financial year. Now a new estimate is being prepared to make it eight lanes.
