Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. The land on which we walk, farm and build cities will now tell its entire story through data. For this, Tech Weaves Lab of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad and Noida will together develop technology focused on land records, mapping, remote sensing and advanced analysis of geospatial data.

Taking initiative in this direction, both the institutes signed an MoU to give new flight to land and geospatial applications through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

The MoU was signed by Director Ankit Mishra on behalf of Tech Weaves Lab and Registrar Prof. on behalf of IIIT. Signed by Mandar Subhash worker. Director Prof. Mukul Sharad Sutavane and Rakesh Kumar Singh, Chief Technology Officer, Tech Weaves Lab, said that this partnership is not an ordinary technical collaboration, but a glimpse of the future where satellite images, drone views and huge geo-data will be analyzed with the help of machine learning in minutes to give accurate results.

Land use, maps, boundaries and natural resources – everything will now be clearer and more reliable than ever. Tech Weaves Lab and IIIT's Advanced Image and Data Science Lab will together take the journey from research to direct application.

Dr. Triloki Pant, in-charge of Data Science Lab, said that both the institutions will work together towards understanding the data related to land.

The light of this technology will shine in these areas

Land related disputes will reduce and transparency will increase. Planning of roads, houses and infrastructure will be smarter than before. Farmers will be able to know what their land is saying. When to sow, how much water to give and what kind of crop will be better. Indications of floods, landslides or other natural disasters will be available in time.
