After the arrest, Maloya police station has registered a case under the NDPS Act against 57-year-old Banno, resident of Daddumajra Colony. According to the police, on February 6, ASI Mangat Singh was on patrol with his team.
During patrolling, the police stopped a woman on the basis of suspicion. During the search, 14.71 grams of heroin was recovered from him. The police arrested Banno after taking possession of the recovered heroin.
According to police records, Banno has been involved in many drug related cases in the past also. Several FIRs are registered against him under the NDPS Act in various police stations.
Earlier, an FIR was also registered against Bannon's sister Bala in Maloya police station, in which 3.44 grams of heroin was recovered from Bala's possession. Police said that the investigation of the case is going on and efforts are being made to find out from where Banno used to get heroin and to whom she supplied it.
