Digital Desk, New Delhi. There are operational challenges at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) since Wednesday morning due to fog, haze and poor air quality in Delhi-NCR.

In view of the low visibility, the airport administration has implemented 'Low-Visibility Procedures' so that flights can be operated safely. In the advisory issued by the airport at 9 am, it was said that at present flight operations are continuing normally, but takeoff and landing may take longer than normal.

The administration has appealed to the passengers to check the status of their flight before reaching the airport, so that there is no inconvenience in the journey.

At around 9:55 am, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in the 'poor' category. The combined conditions of poor wind and fog are resulting in reduced visibility, impacting air operations.

The airport administration has appealed to the passengers to reach the airport on time and keep an eye on the flight updates continuously, so that the journey remains safe and smooth in this winter season.
