Jagran correspondent, Pilibhit. The Transport Corporation is facing loss in income due to the depot buses not being allowed to park at Bareilly and Badaun bus stands. Due to the arbitrary attitude of other depots, buses are not able to get space inside the stand, due to which passengers are not able to get information about the buses. This is having a direct impact on the income of the depot and the remuneration of contract employees.

About 103 buses of Pilibhit depot operate mainly via Bareilly to Badaun, Mathura, Delhi, Lucknow and other places. For the convenience of passengers, a special counter of Pilibhit depot was made at the satellite bus stand of Bareilly, it was removed some time ago. Now the situation is that buses are not allowed to park inside the stand.

Under compulsion, the drivers park the buses on the roadside, where the police issues challans to them. Amidst this tussle, passengers are getting lost and the depot is facing a loss of revenue worth lakhs of rupees every day. The worst impact of reduced income is on contract drivers and conductors. As per the policy of the roadways, the salary of these employees depends on the distance covered by the bus and the income earned.

The income of the depot is continuously being affected due to lack of space to park the buses. Passengers are also facing inconvenience. To solve this serious problem, talks are being held with higher officials so that re-location can be ensured for the buses of Pilibhit depot. – Vipul Parashari, ARM, Pilibhit Depot
