Jagran correspondent, Haridwar. An e-rickshaw driver from Khatima (Udham Singh Nagar) in Sidkul area committed suicide, accusing his neighbors of mental harassment.
In the suicide note, serious allegations have been made against the neighboring couple and an unknown youth visiting their house like assault and snatching Rs 15,000.
After informing the relatives, the police got the body kept in the mortuary of the district hospital. Along with the facts written in the suicide note, investigation has also been started on other aspects.
According to the police, Nandan Singh, resident of Khatima Udham Singh Nagar, was an e-rickshaw driver by profession. He had taken a room on rent in the Sidewalk area itself. When the door of Nandan Singh's room did not open till late in the morning, the neighbors became suspicious.
He informed the police. When a police team from Sidkul police station reached the spot and opened the door, the body of Nandan Singh, 55, was found hanging. On searching the room a suicide note was recovered.
In the suicide note, the couple living in the neighborhood and an unknown youth visiting their house have been accused of continuous mental harassment.
Told that he was troubled by the alleged actions and behavior of his neighbor for a long time. Referring to this mental tension in the suicide note, Nandan Singh has talked about taking suicidal steps.
Sidkul police station in-charge Nitesh Sharma said that the post-mortem of the body will be conducted when the relatives reach Haridwar. The suicide note has been taken into possession and is being thoroughly investigated. After receiving the written complaint, a case will be registered against the accused and action will be taken.
