State Bureau, Patna. Children of government primary schools of the state have received complaints regarding cleanliness and irregularities in the centralized mid-day meal kitchens. Taking this seriously, the Education Department has conducted on-spot inspection of centralized kitchens and sought its report from the districts. Based on the investigation report, action will be taken against the concerned institutions.
According to the Education Department, District Magistrates have also been instructed to take necessary action on the basis of the inspection report of centralized kitchens. In some districts, investigations at various levels are showing that the centralized kitchens of the voluntary organizations distributing mid-day meals in government schools are not working properly. Therefore, the kitchens concerned are being investigated. It is also being investigated that what is the condition of the vehicles carrying food from the kitchen to the school? A report has been prepared and sought.
Let us tell you that from December 1, mid-day meals are being supplied to children from centralized kitchens in identified schools in Hasanpura, Kharagpur, Jamalpur, Barhiya, Barh, Areraj, Shekhpura, Andar, Lakhisarai, Arwal Sadar, Shekhopurasarai, Kesariya, Dhaka, Raxaul and Munger municipal bodies by voluntary organizations.
The Education Department is seeing whether this mid-day meal system is effective or not. Mid-day meals are being supplied from centralized kitchens in 552 government middle schools of municipal bodies.
