Electricity Distribution Network In UP Will Be Strengthened By Rs 500 Crore, Uttar Pradesh Government Gives Approval

State Bureau, Jagran, Lucknow. The government has proposed Rs 5021 crore for the energy sector through the supplementary budget. With this amount, arrangements have been made to cover the losses of power companies as well as to improve the power distribution network. Rs 500 crore has been proposed to strengthen the power distribution network.

The government has proposed Rs 176.65 crore for the construction of power projects of Tehri Hydro Development Corporation India Limited. Rs 3744.45 crore has been proposed to fund the losses incurred by power distribution companies under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

In order to reduce the losses of RDSS works running in the state, a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for reimbursement of SGST on armed cable works. A provision of Rs 500 crore has been made to the Additional Energy Sources Department for setting up grid connected solar power plants at private residences.
