Jagran correspondent, Bermo. Three people of the same family, including husband and wife, were crushed to death in an elephant attack in Badki Pannu village of Gomiya block. This tragic incident happened around 3 o'clock on Wednesday night, when a herd of five-member elephants entered the village and reached the courtyard of a house.
According to the information, there was chaos in the house due to the sound of elephants. Gangwa Karmali, who was running out of the house to save his life, was thrown by the elephants by wrapping them in their trunk, due to which he died on the spot. Hearing her husband's screams, his wife Kamali Devi came out, but the elephants crushed her too. In this way, the husband and wife died tragically on the spot.
One person injured in the attack
Meanwhile, Bhagiya Devi, sister-in-law of Gangwa Karmali, also tried to escape, but an elephant crushed her too, due to which she also died. Another person is also reported injured in the attack, who has been sent to the hospital for treatment.
Easy entry of elephants into villages
Villagers said that the house of the deceased was adjacent to the forest, which made it easy for elephants to enter the village. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire area. The villagers have demanded the forest department to chase away the elephants towards the forest and give compensation to the victim's family.
