Jagran correspondent, Kolkata. An empty coach of an EMU train derailed on Wednesday while entering Shalimar railway station in Bengal's Howrah district. An officer gave this information.

The officer said that the incident occurred at around 10.30 am, but there was no news of any casualty. A South Eastern Railway official said one of the empty coaches of the train derailed while entering platform number three of the terminal station.

On the other hand, there was panic on Tuesday afternoon due to fire in the Katihar-Howrah Intercity Express train standing at Nabadwip Dham station in Nadia district. According to officials, however, no one was harmed by the fire.

According to railway and local sources, when the train was standing at Nabadwip Dham station, smoke was seen coming out from under a compartment. Within moments, flames engulfed the compartment. As soon as information about the incident was received, the railway rescue team and fire engines started extinguishing the fire. After much effort the fire was brought under control.
