Railways increased connectivity in Katihar: New stoppage of two trains boosted regional development
Communication partner, Katihar. New stoppages of trains at two major stations in Katihar Railway Division were inaugurated with great enthusiasm on Wednesday, 18th February. First of all, train number 75706 was flagged off on the occasion of stoppage of Radhikapur-Siliguri Intercity Express (train number 75705/75706) at Kanki Railway Station. Local passengers and railway officials were present on this occasion.
After this, a program of stoppage of Nagaon Express (train number 15629/15630) was organized at Dalkola Railway Station. Train number 15629 was flagged off. MP Karthik Chandra Pal was the chief guest of both the programs. He said that these new stops will provide convenience to regional passengers and will give new impetus to local trade and development.
On this occasion, Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Katihar Railway Division Manoj Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anoop Kumar Singh and officers of various departments were present. He said that Railways is continuously taking steps to increase passenger convenience and regional connectivity.
MP Kartik Chandra Pal told the officials that the new stop will not only make travel easier for passengers, but will also benefit the local economy and business. He appreciated this initiative of Railways and appealed to the passengers to avail this facility.
Local people and travelers also appeared excited about the new stop. He said that now they will not need to go to other stations for long distance trains, which will save time and energy. The station premises were decorated and special security arrangements were made during the program.
The Railway Department said that this initiative has been taken keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the passengers. This is considered an important step towards further strengthening the railway network through new stopping facilities.
