Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. The Municipal Corporation squad conducted demolition drive in Lakdamndi and Old Shivli Road and removed 120 encroachments from the footpath and road. During this time, the police chased away the protesters with sticks on the road. Also imposed a fine of Rs 20 thousand. The squad reached Lakdamndi under the leadership of Zone 4 in-charge Rajesh Singh. At first people tried to protest but the squad chased away the rioters.
After this, the squad carried out a campaign through Lakdamndi Road till Post Office intersection and demolished more than 60 pucca and kutcha structures built on footpaths and drains. Also removed banners and hoardings. Also warned that now fine will be imposed on the encroachers. Tax Superintendent Anoop Srivastava, Revenue Inspector Kamal Singh etc. were present on this occasion.
Under the leadership of Zone 6 zonal in-charge Ravi Prakash Yadav and Executive Engineer RK Singh, the squad reached Old Shivli Road. During this time, illegal encroachments were demolished from Mahila Hotel Tirahe to Kalyanpur Crossing and the carts and other shops on the road were removed. During this time there was a jam. People had occupied even the road. Even the drains were blocked. During this period the squad demolished about 60 illegal constructions. Also recovered Rs 20 thousand.

KDA has started action against those doing illegal construction. Under this, along with sealing two constructions, notices have been given to those doing illegal plotting and commercial construction on residential sites. On the orders of KDA Vice President Madan Singh Garbyal and Secretary Abhay Pandey, the squad led by Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh, in-charge of Zone 1B and Officer on Special Duty, sealed the construction going on against the standards in Plot No. 670 Lakhanpur Housing Society Gate No. 1 and in front of Mangaldeep Apartment, Barry Akbarpur Kalyanpur. Even after the notice, construction was being carried out secretly.

Apart from this, Ramvati, Archana Nishad, Ramkhilavan, Shri Katiyar and others took up residence on Parmamiyapurwa Mainawati road in front of Jageshwar temple, Aaraji numbers - 2555, 2556, 2557, 2558, 2299, 2572, 2573, 2574, 2575 and 2576, Nandu Nishad took up residence on Khyora Katri Mainawati.
