20-year-old engineering student commits suicide in Phagwara (file photo)
Digital Desk, Phagwara (Kapurthala). A 20-year-old engineering student from a private university allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the ninth floor in Phagwara, Kapurthala.
Police said that the deceased has been identified as Nikhil, a first year student, who was a resident of Sunnar Khurd village near Phillaur. He was taken to Phagwara Civil Hospital, where duty doctors declared him brought dead.
Phagwara Superintendent of Police (SP) Madhavi Sharma said that the matter is being investigated to find out why the student took this step.
