Jagran correspondent, Noida. Shivalik Park located in Sector-33 has been decorated with colorful flowers as part of the 38th Vasant Utsav. This event will continue till 22 February. Every year about five lakh people come to see this exhibition free of cost.
This time too, it is expected to be more than this, because the authority has decided to run it for four days instead of three, but this time the authority officials have created a new mess by imposing vehicle parking fee in the exhibition.

After this, the residents of the city have started protesting against the flower exhibition, because for 37 years, the vehicles of the people coming here have been parked free of cost.
Two years ago, when this event was removed from the Noida Stadium located in Sector-21A, the deployed officials had argued that too many vehicles come to the flower show, which leads to traffic jams around the stadium, but there is more parking space around Shivalik Park, there is enough parking even under the Craft Haat.
Due to this, there will be no problem of traffic jam, people will get a lot of convenience in commuting here. However, when information was taken from General Manager SP Singh on this matter, he said that the parking of vehicles should be done in an organized manner, hence the contractor has been given permission to charge parking fee for three days.
Let us inform that there should not be any financial hindrance in organizing this flower exhibition at Noida Authority. Therefore, Noida Authority organizes the entire program through CSR funds. In this, along with government and private institutions, big corporate houses are also involved.
The only objective of the authority is to attract the lovers of nature, flowers and plants here, but for the first time in the 38th event, a major change was seen, in which the authority ruined the entire system by giving a tender to a private agency to collect vehicle parking charges.
Not only this, for this arrangement, the authority has even hung a banner for vehicle parking fee outside the flower exhibition.
In this, it is written that for two hours a fee of Rs 20 from car owners, Rs 10 from bike owners and Rs 40 from trucks will be charged, but the parking contractors standing at the spot have got permission to loot from the public, the work has been started to collect Rs 100 each. The city residents are protesting against this on various social media platforms.
The authority should cancel the parking tender. This system is not right. We oppose it. This is a source of earning which should not happen. This will affect the crowd.

Parking charges are high. This should go away. If someone goes with his family, he spends more than two hours here. There are also complaints of arbitrary ticket cutting at many places.
