Maya Nagar Cooperative Housing Society

Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. After the long-running irregularities, illegal business activities and arbitrariness of officials in Maya Nagar Cooperative Housing Society, the administration has now taken a tough stance. On the basis of detailed investigation and departmental reports, legal action is considered decided against the committee officials.

The bank accounts of the committee have been frozen and there is a ban on buying and selling of land in all the schemes. Some directors of the committee were preparing to approach the High Court to avoid action. Even before this, on the instructions of Administrator Vinay Pandey, Cooperative Officer Satish Dwivedi has filed a caveat in the High Court.

From this it has become clear that if the committee officials approach the court, then the administrative side will also be heard. The entire case is being conducted under Section 38 of the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act 1965. Instructions had already been given to remove the secretary from the registrar level, but the management committee continued to ignore the orders. After this, several dates of hearing were fixed.

The matter also reached the High Court, where a hearing was held again on July 17, 2025 in compliance with the court order. Ultimately, on October 6, 2025, Secretary Navneet Kumar Sharma was found guilty and removed from the post. Meanwhile, the report of Cooperative Officer (Housing) Satish Kumar Dwivedi revealed the business activities being conducted illegally against the committee.

It was told that factories have been constructed on the committee land situated on Delhi Road against the rules and are being used commercially. Taking cognizance of this, the department has given instructions to register an FIR against the guilty officials. Also, the DM has been requested to conduct a land audit of all the schemes of the committee, especially the land of Fazalpur wood area.

The most important step was that the operation of all the bank accounts of the committee has been banned, so that any kind of financial manipulation cannot take place further. It is being told that after the resignation of former MLA Phoolkunwar after defamation and action, a claim was made to hold fresh elections.

After the elections, MP Singh was elected president, but even after the dissolution of the committee, he continued to call himself the president. Now some responsible members of the committee are preparing to go to court against the dissolution of the committee. There is also talk of holding a confidential meeting regarding this. However, sensing this possible legal move, the administration has already filed a caveat in the High Court, so that no unilateral order can be given.

It is being told that now the administrator and his team in the committee will finalize the investigation and after that elections will also be held as per rules. After the elections, a new management committee will be formed and further legal action will be taken against those found guilty through the administrator.
