Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. A similar sensational incident had taken place in the city a year ago also. Under the guise of modernity, minors were being exploited inside hotels and hookah bars. The matter came to light when a 13-year-old kidnapped girl was recovered on January 2, 2025. The statement of the girl exposed the network of organized prostitution and gang rape, which was active for a long time.
The girl had told the police that she was first lured through internet media on the pretext of friendship and job. After this she was forced into prostitution. As soon as this was revealed, the police team under the leadership of the then ASP Asna Choudhary raided Hotel Fly-in and Genus Bottle Hookah Bar.
The investigation revealed that the accused used to contact the girls through Instagram and other internet media platforms. During the investigation, it also came to light that the pictures of the girls were sent to the customers through WhatsApp. After fixing the rates, they were sent to hotels or other places.

Hotels and hookah bars remained the main locations of this entire network. In this case, the police arrested about 15 accused including gang leader Anirudh Ojha, hotel owner Anurag Singh and his associates and sent them to jail.
The role of three female members of the gang who trapped and monitored the girls also came to light, who were arrested by the police. As the scope of investigation increased, the involvement of five other hotel operators also came to light. In this case, action was taken against 14 accused under the Gangster Act.
