Jagran correspondent, Unnao. In Gokulpur village of Asoha area, 38-year-old Srikanti, wife of Omkar, who had come out of the house for some suspicious reason, was shot dead by unknown miscreants. Hearing the sound of the bullet, husband Omkar came out and was shocked to see his wife's dead body.
SP and other officers reached the spot and conducted investigation with the help of forensic team. The husband has filed a case of murder against unknown people.
Srikanti was working as Shikshamitra in the village itself. On Tuesday night she was lying at home with husband Omkar and 13-year-old daughter Riya. Whereas, the elder son Raunak was in his maternal uncle's village Korari Kala of Achalganj police station area.

It is said that the husband was very spendthrift. Due to which he often had disputes with his wife. There are suspicions that he was murdered after a dispute over this at 2 o'clock in the night. The bullet hit him on the right side of the chest due to which there is talk of being shot from the front.
According to relatives, Srikanti was coming inside the house after getting suspicious from outside. Then the incident happened. SO Phool Singh said that a case has been registered. Further action will be taken after investigation.
