Digital Desk, Lucknow. Recently, after the implementation of the equality law made by the UGC, the upper caste community has come out against it, due to which there has been a political stir. BSP supremo Mayawati has also given her reaction on the implementation of this Act and its opposition.
Mayawati justified the decision of UGC to form equality committee in government colleges and private universities and said that the only people opposing it are people with casteist mentality, who are calling it conspiratorial.
Mayawati expressed her views in three points on social media platform X. He wrote, 'In order to eliminate caste discrimination in the higher educational institutions of the country, some of the provisions of the new rule made by the University Grants Commission, UGC, to form 'Equity Committee' (Equity Committee) in government colleges and private universities are being opposed by people of the general category only with caste mentality considering it as discrimination and conspiracy against them, then it is not at all appropriate.'
Mayawati believes that there should have been a discussion before implementing the UGC Act, so that there would have been no tension. He wrote, the party also believes that if everyone was taken into confidence before implementing such rules, it would have been better and it would not have caused social tension in the country. Governments and all institutions must pay attention to this also.
Appealing to the Dalits and backward classes, the BSP supremo cautioned that they should not be misled by the inflammatory statements of any leader. In this regard, Mayawati wrote, 'Also, in such matters, Dalits and backward people should not fall prey to the provocative statements of selfish and sellable leaders of these classes, under the guise of which these people keep doing disgusting politics day in and day out, that is, the people of these classes must be careful.'
Let us tell you that the upper caste community got upset with the new provisions of UGC and came out in protest against the central government. Some upper caste BJP leaders have also expressed their displeasure over this. People have expressed widespread protest in many cities of UP.
