Under this, the work of land record transfer, land verification and mapping has been started. For this, a staff of more than 12 officers from the Revenue Department and Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) has been appointed.

About 12 Patwari, Kanungo and Naib Tehsildars along with retired revenue officers have been deployed for this project. Of these, six Patwaris have been appointed from the Revenue Department and six from Patwari, Kanungo and Naib Tehsildar Himuda. The main work of the team is to check land records, verify details and do detailed mapping, so that the land can be transferred in the name of HIMUDA.

There is a plan to settle Him Chandigarh city in the limits of Haripur Sandoli and Malpur Panchayats under Doon assembly constituency. Approximately 5342 bighas of government land is proposed within the scope of this project. Although there is opposition to this project at the local level, the government has moved forward with the process of transfer of government land.

How much land acquired for Him Chandigarh?

According to the Revenue Department, in the first phase, preparations are being made to transfer about 3242 bighas of land in the name of HIMUDA within a month. In the second phase, the remaining approximately 2100 bighas of land will be included in the acquisition process.

At present it has been clarified that only government land is being taken in this project and private land has not been acquired.

Plan to develop on both banks of Sarsa river

Officials associated with the project say that land records have been prepared, which will be sent to the government for approval. This entire area of ​​land is located in Sheetalpur and Malpur Panchayats and falls towards the lower part of the railway line. No plans are currently proposed upstream of the railway line. There is a plan to develop Him Chandigarh city on both the banks of Sarsa river, for which the lands on both sides are being mapped.

20 thousand houses can be developed

According to estimates, about 20 thousand houses can be developed on 60 percent of the total land in this project. With this, there is a plan to settle a population of about one lakh in the new city. Preparations are underway to develop it as a modern, planned and well-organized city of the future.

On the instructions of the government, work is being done on the process of finalizing the revenue records for making snow Chandigarh city. Some revenue officers and HIMUDA officials have been given the responsibility of mapping and preparing records.
