Jagran correspondent, Patna. A sensational case of cheating unemployed youth in the name of restoration in Patna Metro project has come to light. Fake interviews were conducted on the pretext of providing jobs, in which a large number of youth were called and money was also collected from them on different pretexts. After the matter came to light, the victim youth complained to the police, after which investigation has been started.
According to the victims, an advertisement related to the reinstatement of data entry operator, station supervisor, guard, fitter, lineman and other posts in Patna Metro was circulated on social media and some websites.
After seeing the advertisement, when the youth contacted the given numbers, they were called for interview. The interview process was also conducted in such a professional manner that no one had any doubts.
The youth say that during the interview, people calling themselves Metro officials checked the documents and assured them of selection.
After this, money was asked from them in the name of medical, training and file processing. Many youth gave thousands to lakhs of rupees in the hope of getting a job.
After a few days, when neither the joining letter was received nor any satisfactory response when contacted, the youth realized that they had been cheated. After this, when the victims contacted each other, it was found that many other youth had also been trapped in the trap of fake reinstatement. Seeing the matter escalating, a complaint was made to the police.
According to sources, logos and letterheads similar to those of Patna Metro were used in fake interviews and appointment letters, which confused the youth. Some fake e-mails and website links were also shared to make the fraud look like a real process.
Patna Metro administration has clarified on this matter that any kind of restoration in the metro is done only through the official website and through authorized means.
Demand for interview or money through private numbers, WhatsApp or social media is completely fake. The officials have appealed to the youth not to fall into such trap and must verify the official information before any reinstatement.
Police say that the matter is being investigated on the basis of the complaint. Those issuing fake advertisements, conducting interviews and taking money are being identified. This gang will be exposed soon.
This incident has once again exposed the helplessness of unemployed youth and the activity of thugs. Experts say that youth looking for jobs need to be cautious, so that their hard-earned money does not fall victim to any fraud.
