Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. Five teams of SIT reached Aligarh, Faridabad, Saharanpur, Firozabad, Meerut on Tuesday in the case of making and selling fake marksheets and degrees. From here the team will now go to the universities of those districts on Wednesday, where fake marksheets and degrees were recovered. At the same time, a team of SIT, which reached CSJMU on Monday night, has asked for the records of the recovered degrees from the university administration, so that it can be verified.
The team at the university is investigating the accounts of the gang and the checks received from them in the banks. While the surveillance team is also busy tracing the location of the absconding accused.
Kidwai Nagar police station had sent Shailendra Kumar, resident of Rae Bareli, Nagendra Mani Tripathi of Kaushambi, Jagendra of Ghaziabad and Ashwani Kumar of Shuklaganj, the leader of the gang involved in making and selling fake degree-marksheets, to jail, while five accused are absconding. Police had recovered more than 1000 degrees and mark sheets of renowned universities of 14 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh from them.
Nine teams of SIT are investigating the case, in which five teams will investigate Mangalyatan University Aligarh, Jamia Urdu Aligarh, Lingya University Faridabad, Glocal University Saharanpur, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University Meerut, JS University Shikohabad Firozabad.
Additional Police Commissioner Headquarters and Crime Sankalp Sharma said that a total of nine SIT teams are investigating this case. There are 14 special police officers in this, but in their support there will also be separate policemen from surveillance and cyber crime team, police station and crime branch. Five teams have reached other cities to investigate. There are teams whose degrees and marksheets have been found. Evidence will be collected from their universities including proof of admission, exam appearing, number of days of attendance of that student.
One team is investigating the fake mark sheets of high school and intermediate, while another team is engaged in investigation along with surveillance. Apart from this, a team has been appointed to check bank accounts, checks and transactions etc. Apart from this, a team of SIT has been deployed in search of the absconding accused.

Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University Kanpur, Lingya University Faridabad, Mangalayatan University Aligarh, JS University Shikohabad Firozabad, Asian University Manipur, Glocal University Saharanpur, Sikkim Professional University Sikkim, Pragyan International University Jharkhand, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University Meerut, Himalayan University Itanagar, Himalayan Garhwal University Uttarakhand, Shri Krishna University Chhatarpur, Monad University Hapur, Jamia Urdu Degrees and mark sheets of Aligarh have been found. Marksheets of Secondary Education Council Prayagraj were also recovered.
