Due to collusion, any family is getting their name registered in the register. The Panchayati Raj Department's investigation has also revealed that people coming here from other states and living on rent are also availing the benefits of government schemes by registering their names in the family register.
Not only this, in many Gram Panchayats the page number is not even mentioned in the family register and in some, name papers are pasted on the register. What's more, it has not even been signed by any official. Considering all these situations, the government has decided to get the family register checked. According to the rules of the Panchayati Raj Department, it is mandatory for the name of every family permanently residing in a rural area to be registered in the family register of the Gram Panchayat. There is a provision in the manual for the process of correcting the entries in the family register and adding new names. The Assistant Development Officer (Panchayat) has the right to enter names in the family register, while the right of appeal lies with the Sub-Collector. However, there is no clarity in the rules regarding permanent residence in Gram Panchayat. Taking advantage of this, names are being entered in the family register arbitrarily.

Last year, after the flood of applications for adding names in the family register and the rejection of a large number of applications, attention was drawn to the collusion of names being entered in the family register on the basis of fake documents. According to the sources of Panchayati Raj Department, when investigation was done in this regard, many shocking things came to light. Many people coming from other states and living in villages got their Aadhar cards and Ayushman cards made by registering their names in the family register. Many people are taking advantage of government schemes. Sources said that the existing rules in the matter of registering names have also been ignored. As per rules, the names have been entered arbitrarily without getting the signature of the competent officer. However, the flaw in the rules is that there is no concrete system to monitor this process. In view of all this, it is now necessary to amend the rules related to family register. Exercise has been started in this regard.
