Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. Farmers of Greater Noida may soon get the gift of increased compensation rates. The proposal for this increase is expected to come in the upcoming meeting of the authority. The authority purchases land on the basis of consent from the farmers. In return they are given a fixed compensation.
Currently, compensation is given at the rate of around Rs 4,200 per square metre, whereas in YEIDA the compensation rate has reached Rs 4,300 per square metre. Farmers of Greater Noida are also demanding increase in compensation rates.
Earlier, the compensation rate was increased by 10 percent in the financial year 2023-24. The authority has studied the current compensation rate and market rate. CEO NG Ravi Kumar says that increasing the compensation rates is being considered.
