On the complaint of Naib Tehsildar, police registered a case against 14 farmers for taking them hostage.

Samvad Sutra, Jakhal (Fatehabad). On Wednesday, local farmers staged a protest near the farmer's house in Nadel village of Jakhal section of Fatehabad district regarding the order to auction the land of a farmer. During the protest, Naib Tehsildar Rashwinder Singh reached the spot and tried to start the court process. The farmers stopped them and kept them hostage for one and a half hours. Later, he was taken to the safe office through the police. In this case, the police have registered a case against 14 people on the complaint of Naib Tehsildar.

BKU District Secretary Nirbhay Ratia said that a farmer of Nadel had borrowed Rs 7 lakh from the commission agent of Jakhal Mandi, which increased to Rs 27 lakh with interest. To recover this amount, the court has ordered to auction the entire land of the farmer, the value of which is estimated to be around Rs 4 crore.

He told that the farmers are ready to sit in the Panchayat and reach a compromise, but will not tolerate bullying. A large number of farmers participated in the dharna that started at 10 am under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugraha and raised slogans against the administration and the government. Regarding this matter, Balaur Singh, son of the deceased farmer, said that he was not aware of his father's debt, yet injustice is being done to him.

Agent Jagdish Rai said that the court had ordered the auction and its implementation is legal. Naib Tehsildar said that no person participated in the auction on Wednesday and there is a possibility of a solution through talks with the farmers. He said that the farmers had held them hostage for one and a half hours and they have given a complaint to the police. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against 14 people.

Case registered against them

On the complaint of Naib Tehsildar, police have registered a case against Nadel resident Ranjit, Dasvindra Singh alias Gaggu, Sukhvindra Singh, Tarsem, Rajvindra, Soni, Balvindra alias Kala, Balor, Sattu, Palo Kaur and Gursevak, Sidhani residents Ajay and Dharambir and Talwadi resident Uttam Singh and started investigation.
