Know the main points and gist of the news at a glance

Jagran correspondent, Meerut. Six months ago, the tears of father Yamin Ansari's death had not even dried when another mountain of sorrow fell on Iqbal Ansari's family. The fire that broke out in the house on Monday night took away his daughter-in-law and five grandchildren.

This incident was so terrible that it hurts the heart just remembering it. A house full of silk clothes was burnt to ashes in the flames.

Till now, information about this accident has not been given to Iqbal's wife Amir Bano who is undergoing treatment in the capital hospital. All the family members are currently living in uncle's house.

Iqbal Ansari, who lives near Surahi Wali Masjid in Kidwai Nagar of Lisadi Gate, has six sons. In his three-storey house, embroidery work on clothes was done on the ground floor, while the family lived on the first and second floors.

At eight o'clock on Monday night, the men of the family had gone to the mosque to offer namaz, while the women and children were present at home. On the first floor were Amir Bano, son Farooq's wife Nazish, Arshad's wife Nazma and two children.

On the second floor, Iqbal's son Asim's wife Rukhsar, son Akdash, six-year-old twin daughters Analia and Inayat and Farooq's son Hammad and daughter Mehwish were there. Two children of the family were playing outside the house.

The fire broke out due to short circuit on the ground floor at around 8.30 pm. The flames engulfed the first and second floors within a short time.

People nearby safely rescued the five members of the family present on the first floor, but could not save the lives of Rukhsar and five children trapped on the second floor.

Rukhsar had gone to the bedroom with the children and closed the door. Farooq's children Hammad and Mehwish also died in this accident.

Nazish's eyes start watering as soon as he asks about the children. She says that if she had known that it was not safe to go to the second floor, she would not have allowed the children to go there.

This incident has torn the entire family apart. No one understands how to get out of this sad situation.

The reason for the fire was found, but whose negligence was responsible... the officers could not find out.

Cloth cutting work was going on in Iqbal's house. Due to short circuit, the silk cloth caught fire, which engulfed the entire house within a few minutes. The fire department in its report has stated that the cause of the fire was short circuit. Now the question arises why the short circuit happened and due to whose negligence it happened.

How was commercial work being carried out on domestic electricity connections? The electrical wires inside the house were not even audited. Short circuit has occurred due to excessive load on light wires. The second thing is that the fire brigade vehicles did not reach on time.

Despite arriving late, he did not have the necessary equipment. The pipe also became short. They did not even have a ladder to rescue the people trapped inside the house. If the fire brigade had acted properly on time, perhaps this tragic incident could have been averted.

The family has informed the administration in writing that no action will be taken, due to which the administrative investigation has come to a halt. Whereas SSP Avinash Pandey says that a report of the entire matter is being sought from the fire brigade.
