Jagran correspondent, Rae Bareli. The establishment of AIIMS was announced in 2007 and the process of getting land started in 2013, but the entire land required for AIIMS has not been received yet.

The district administration has expedited the process to get the remaining land to AIIMS. Land will be taken from about 35 farmers of two gram panchayats, for this the officials have sent a letter to the Principal Secretary Medical Education to get it gazetted. After the completion of the acquisition process, the land will be handed over to AIIMS.

A proposal was made to give 147.2 acres of land for the establishment of AIIMS. In this, the state government had given 97.35 acres of sugar mill land to AIIMS for just one rupee. After that, in the second phase, 49.85 acres of land was to be acquired from the farmers.

Out of this, about 43 acres of land had been acquired and the land has been given to AIIMS in 2021. Of this, 6.5 acres of land is still left, which is to be given to AIIMS. The land belongs to 35 farmers of Gram Panchayat Dariyapur and Sultanpur Aima. The district administration has taken forward the process of its acquisition.

There has now been a gap of five years since the land acquisition process started, hence the land has been re-assessed. It is said that there has been a delay in the land acquisition due to the land owner being abroad and a case regarding division among brothers.

On behalf of the Special Land Acquisition Officer, a letter has been sent to the Principal Secretary Medical Education to complete the process of gazettement of the land. Objections will be sought after this process is completed.

The land will be acquired after resolving the objections within the stipulated time period of 60 days. After this the Director General of Medical Education will transfer the land to AIIMS. At present, there is hope of getting the land to AIIMS soon.

Correspondence has been sent to the government for gazettement of the land, after the gazettement, objections will be taken, after that the land will be acquired. Vishal Yadav, Special Land Acquisition Officer, Rae Bareli
