Principal Media Advisor to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Naresh Chauhan said that Shimla Police has done a better job in the entire matter and the Himachal government has taken a clear and strong stand on this issue. He said that everyone in Himachal Pradesh has to follow the law and the state government has no intention of saving any criminal.

Delhi Police did not follow legal procedure

Chief Media Advisor to Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan raised questions on the action of Delhi Police. He said that Delhi Police did not follow legal procedure while taking action in Himachal Pradesh. According to the rules, it is mandatory for the police of any other state to inform the local police before taking action in the state. Also, it is necessary to get the relevant FIR issued by the local magistrate and give the information to the state police, but these procedures were not followed.

Naresh Chauhan said that Himachal Pradesh is a tourist state and many times criminals from other states reach here. In such cases, the police of other states inform the local police and take proper action. He said that this is a matter related to the safety of the citizens of Himachal, hence the police of any state cannot take such action without prior information and following the rules.

Appreciation of Shimla Police, no intention to save the criminal

During this, Naresh Chauhan praised Shimla Police and said that they acted responsibly and cautiously in the entire matter. The stand of the state government is completely clear that action should be taken only within the ambit of law. He reiterated that the government has no intention of protecting any criminal.

Chief Minister's Media Advisor Naresh Chauhan also targeted BJP during this period. Taking the name of Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, he said that on the issue of RDG, he was seen defending the Central Government against the interests of the people of Himachal. Now he has no concrete issue left, so he is making statements on this matter, which is unfortunate.
