RJD MLC Sunil Singh's attack on the government
Digital Desk, Patna. Politics has once again heated up regarding liquor ban in Bihar. Sunil Kumar Singh has made a scathing attack on the government. He said, 'All media persons will stay on 27th, we will order liquor only here.' He claimed that liquor was being delivered openly in the capital. Singh alleged that the administrative system has completely failed. His statement has intensified the stir in political circles.
Claim of ‘delivery point in front of Rajendra Babu’
The MLC alleged that liquor is being delivered even near the statue of patriot Rajendra Prasad. He said that this place is a major public place of the capital. Despite this, illegal activities are going on here.
Singh claimed that even school children were being employed in delivery work. He called it a serious threat to law and order. Also sought answers from the government as to why such a situation persists.
Mention of ‘Ek Ane Marg’ also
The RJD leader alleged that a constable posted near Anne Marg was also seen carrying liquor. He said that the situation can be understood when the protectors of the law break the rules.
Singh called it an open disregard for the prohibition law. He said that action is taken against small people, but big people get away. He said that this is an example of double standards. There was no immediate reaction from the government on this allegation.
Complete prohibition is in force in Bihar since 2016. The government claims that this has led to social reform. But the opposition has been continuously calling it a failed policy.
Sunil Singh said that the ground reality is contrary to the claims of the government. He said that illegal business has taken an organized form. The debate on this issue is likely to intensify inside and outside the Assembly.
Political conflict and further strategy
RJD has indicated that it will raise this issue at a broader level. The opposition says that review of liquor ban is necessary.
Till now the government has been talking about strict enforcement and raids. But the latest allegations have raised questions on the functioning of the administration.
This debate has again intensified from the capital to the rural areas. In the coming days, this issue can become a big center of Bihar politics.
