Cheating of Rs 6.40 lakh in the name of online task.
Jagran correspondent, Ambala city. The Cyber Crime Police has arrested two accused from Lucknow in the case of cheating of Rs 6 lakh 40 thousand by luring them to earn lakhs of rupees by completing online tasks. Both of them were presented in the court and sent to judicial custody.
This action was taken as part of the campaign being run by Ambala Police against cyber crimes. The team of Cyber Crime Police Station under the leadership of Sub Inspector Ravi Kumar arrested the accused Sanjeev resident of Nehru Bagh Megharwara, Unnao (UP) and Vikas resident of Kathwara, Police Station BKT, Lucknow (UP) on 24 February.
In this case, the complainant woman had lodged a complaint in the Cyber Crime Police Station, Ambala on May 12. It was told in the complaint that between April 30 and May 5, 2025, unknown persons duped him of huge earnings in the name of completing online tasks and defrauded him of Rs 6.40 lakh through various transactions. After the complaint was registered, the police identified the accused on the basis of technical investigation and analysis of bank accounts.
During the action, the concerned bank accounts were also put on hold, so that further financial transactions could be stopped. Superintendent of Police Ajit Singh Shekhawat has appealed to the general public not to fall into the trap of earning money online.
