Baloch rebels wreaked havoc on Pak soldiers.
Digital Desk, New Delhi. Baloch insurgent group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that its Operation Hereof Phase 2 is underway in several districts of Balochistan. It has been more than 40 hours since this operation was launched. BLA has also claimed to have caused heavy losses to Pakistani security forces and to have control over many areas.
BLA spokesperson Jiyand Baloch also issued two statements regarding this. The rebel group has said that its fighters have completed operations in several areas including Kharan, Mastung, Tump and Pasni. The group also claimed that its fighters were present in parts of Quetta and Noshki. From here the military presence of Islamabad has been pushed back.
Claim of killing 200 Pakistani soldiers
If BLA's claims are to be believed, more than 200 soldiers of Pakistan Army, Police and Frontier Corps have been killed and at least 17 people have been arrested. The group has described these figures as preliminary and cautious estimates. This shows that the actual loss may have been greater.
Although these claims have not been confirmed, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said that 17 law enforcement personnel and 31 civilians were killed in the attacks. The group warned that local officials and policemen who helped the occupying forces would be considered enemies.
BLA fighters were also killed
Meanwhile, Pakistan Army said that 92 separatists were killed on Saturday, while 41 were killed on Friday. BLA has also accepted the loss suffered by its group. He said that 18 of his fighters were killed during the operation, which included 11 fidayeen (suicide bombers) of Majeed Brigade, four fighters of Fateh Squad and three fighters of STOS unit.
In a statement, the separatist group also acknowledged that a female attacker was also involved in the attacks. “Aseefa Mengal had joined the Majeed Brigade of the Baloch Liberation Army on October 2, 2023 and had decided to become a fidayeen in January 2024,” the BLA said.
