Fire Broke Out Due To Short Circuit In Fisheries Office Of Basti Vikas Bhawan, Fire Brigade Brought It Under Control.

Jagran correspondent, Basti. A sudden fire broke out at 10.30 am on Saturday in the office of the Fisheries Department established on the last floor of Vikas Bhawan located on Nyaya Marg. Two coolers kept sealed in cardboard and some records kept in a cupboard were burnt in the fire. The fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

Since it was the second Saturday of the month, the office of the Fisheries Department was closed, but the offices of the National Livelihood Mission and the Economics and Statistics Department adjacent to it were open. As soon as the people of these two offices saw smoke coming out of the Fisheries Department office, they called Nazir, Chief Executive Officer, Matsya and Vikas Bhawan and informed about the incident.

Nazir dialed 112, informed the police and fire brigade about the incident and sought help. Along with this, electricity was also cut. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot and brought the fire under control before it could escalate. Meanwhile, PRV police personnel took information regarding the incident.

Chief Executive Officer Matsya Sandeep Kumar Verma said that when he got information about the incident at 10.40 am, he reached the spot. Told that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. Two coolers kept packed in the fire were burnt. Along with this, some old files and switch boards kept in the upper compartment of a cupboard were burnt. Information about the incident has been given in writing to the Kotwali police.
