In the last few years, many actors have approached the Delhi High Court to secure their personality rights following the increasing threat of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Till now, stars including Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff had approached the High Court to protect their voice, face and personality.

Actor and businessman Vivek Oberoi's name has also been added to the list of those protecting their personality rights. Filed a petition in the Delhi High Court to protect Vivek's personality rights and also filed a case against some people and the company.

Why was there a need to protect Vivek's personality rights?

According to the report of LiveLaw.in, Vivek Oberoi had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on 4 February 2026. He had alleged that his identity was being misused through various fake social media accounts, merchandise and AI generated content, including deepfake videos.

Vivek Oberoi has filed a case in the court against Collector Bazaar, Zoom Mantra, India Content and ORS along with several unnamed parties including Zone Doe Defendant. This case was filed through his lawyers Sana Raees Khan and Pranay Chitale.

Delhi High Court will give order on Vivek Oberoi's petition

Justice of Delhi High Court on Thursday said that he will issue an order to protect the personality rights of actor and businessman Vivek Oberoi, so that no one can use his name, photo and identity without his permission.

Photos of many stars have been morphed

Many big personalities, from Bollywood stars to cricket legends, have become victims of deepfake videos and morphed photos generated by AI. A scene of Katrina Kaif's Tiger 3 was morphed and her clothes were tampered with, while a wrong video of Kajol also went viral. Even by using AI, people fit the face of many big stars from Salman Khan to Shahrukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and many others on the face of someone else, which looks absolutely real.
