Children studying in Kairi village. Teacher

Balram Sengar, Banda. A village youth, who grew up in poverty, made education his weapon and not only improved the future of hundreds of poor children but also changed the fate of the village. Ramsharan, who once dreamed of becoming a government teacher, started teaching children free of cost in a simple building in the village eight years ago. Today, due to the same dedication and spirit of service, the villagers elected him as their village head.

Ramsharan gives tuition to poor and needy children for two to three hours every day. He connected the children who were staying away from studies due to financial constraints with education and showed them the way to move forward. Many children who studied under his guidance are today bringing glory to the village by getting selected in prestigious institutions like IIT. While his responsibilities increased after being elected village head, Ramsharan's passion for education did not diminish.

Dream was to become a government teacher

Ramsharan of Kairi village of Baberu tehsil, after doing B.Ed and MSc, wandered here and there to become a government teacher. When he did not get a job, seeing poor children roaming in the village, the idea of making children capable came to his mind. He started teaching the children by sitting in a building in the village. First started giving free education to about two dozen children. In the year 2018, his inspiration also appealed to Shiv Bhavan and Janaki Maurya of the village. Both the youth started supporting Ramsharan in this initiative.

Formed a mutual committee to develop the school of cooperation. Started teaching children from class three to eight, which benefited about 190 children of the village. The employed youth in his team are supporting him financially. Due to which notebooks, books and other materials are also provided to poor children. Seeing Ramsharan's service spirit, the villagers suggested him to contest the election for the post of village head in the year 2020. Even after assuming the charge of the post of Principal, he takes out two to three hours of time for the children.

A sudden thought came to my mind and I started working in this direction with a spirit of service. Today I teach 190 children regularly. My aim is that children should become capable and should not be weak in any field anywhere. Even after being the head, I have been teaching children regularly since time immemorial. -Ramsharan, Carry village head
