Jagran correspondent, Gayaji. The effect of dense fog was clearly visible on railway operations on Thursday. The speed of many long distance trains including Rajdhani Express stopped, due to which passengers had to face a lot of trouble.

Dozens of express and mail trains passing through Gaya Junction ran hours behind schedule. Severe cold and fog further increased the difficulties of the passengers.

Kolkata Rajdhani Express going from Howrah to New Delhi was delayed by about two and a half hours. At the same time, West Bengal Sampark Kranti Express was delayed by two hours.

Sealdah Superfast Express also reached Gaya Junction with a delay of about two hours. Mumbai Mail Express going from Mumbai to Howrah will be delayed by one and a half hour, while Parasnath Express was delayed by about an hour.

Due to delay in trains, the crowd of passengers increased at the station. To escape the cold, people were seen taking the help of bonfires and waiting rooms on the platform.

According to railway officials, the speed of trains is being kept slow as a precautionary measure due to low visibility due to fog. It is expected that the effect of fog will continue on railway operations in the coming days also.

Before leaving home, passengers should check the schedule and timings of trains once, so that they do not face any inconvenience.
