Nishan Singh Chahal, Kahnuwan (Gurudaspur). The rising temperature in Gurudaspur, Punjab is likely to have a negative impact on the production of wheat crop. Agricultural scientists have advised farmers to do light irrigation at short intervals, so that the grains do not become weak.

Additionally, keep checking the fields and spray 13-0-45 to prevent yellow rust and oil attack. Farmers are worried about financial loss. At present, the green crop of wheat is fluttering in the fields of the district. Milk will be ready after the ears of grain appear in the waving crops in the fields and after the milk, grains will start forming. In such a situation, increasing temperature during the day can affect the milk and grains in the ears.

Agricultural scientists have advised farmers to do light irrigation at short intervals when ears of wheat appear, so that new growth remains in the soil. In dry conditions the stem of wheat becomes weak and the crop lies on the ground. According to agricultural scientists, sunlight absorbs many other nutrients, which naturally affects production. This will definitely lead to decline in wheat production.

Agricultural scientist Dr. HS Dhaliwal told that at this time milk has been formed in wheat and grains will be ready from the milk in a few days. At such a time, farmers should keep checking their fields from time to time, because as the day temperature increases, the crop may be attacked by yellow rust and oil. At such times, to eliminate oil and yellow rust, spraying should be done only after consulting agricultural experts.

He said that if possible, 13-0-45 should be sprayed at this time, because it contains nitrogen and potassium, which makes the grains shiny and strong. Farmers in barren and sandy areas need to take more care of soil moisture at this time. Therefore, farmers in sandy areas are advised to irrigate their fields from time to time according to the season, as this is the time when wheat is in the milking stage. Dry soil can cause the milk to dry up and the grains to become weak.

Meanwhile, farmers Veer Singh, Jagir Singh, Jarnail Singh and Jasbir Singh Ferochechi have expressed concern that the temperature is continuously increasing, due to which crop production may reduce this time. Due to this, farmers may have to suffer financial loss. Farmers are constantly keeping an eye on the weather, but no one has any control over nature.
