Amidst the rising demand for a ban on the entry of non-Hindus in Harki Paidi and Kumbh area, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the government will take a decision on this subject only after consultation with sages, saints, pilgrimage priests, Shri Ganga Sabha and other related organizations.
The government will respect their feelings and suggestions and take decisions in accordance with the laws and regulations. On Monday, the Chief Minister sat among the public in 'Mukhya Sevak Jan Chaupal' organized at Aryanagar in Shyampur area, listened to the problems and assured of solutions. The special thing about the Chaupal was that the Chief Minister was seen sitting on a cot and talking to the villagers.
The Chief Minister took the name of each villager, inquired about their well being and gave instructions to the officials to resolve the problems. He gave a clear message that the government will no longer work in files but in the field.
While directing the District Magistrate to ensure prompt disposal of all the applications, the Chief Minister said that keeping any complaint pending would not be acceptable. He made it clear that delay or negligence on public problems will not be tolerated.
The issue of ban on entry of non-Hindus is under discussion
Many saints, including Shri Ganga Sabha in Haridwar, have raised the demand for ban on entry of non-Hindus in Harki Paidi, major Ganga ghats and Kumbh area. In this regard, warning boards of entry prohibited for non-Hindus have also been installed at more than five places in the Harki Paidi area. This matter is in discussions across the country these days.
Ardh Kumbh Mela will be grand and divine
Referring to the preparations for the Ardh Kumbh Mela, the Chief Minister said that work is in progress to give a grand and divine form to the fair. Priority is being given to infrastructure development, security arrangements and facilities for devotees.
