Due to power failure in Supertech Ecovillage 1 Society of Greater Noida West, the lift fell from the 13th to the seventh floor. 65 year old Rani Prasad was with her grandson and granddaughter in the lift. An elderly woman suffered four fractures in her leg due to the lift fall. After the incident, the elderly man was not even able to find a wheelchair on the spot. Somehow she reached her home. Told about the incident. Took to hospital for treatment. The fracture was confirmed on X-ray.

Reena Prasad (65) lives with her family in F7 Tower of Supertech Ecovillage 1. Reena's husband Umeshwar Prasad told that his 11 and seven year old granddaughter and grandson go to tuition in 5 Tower. On Monday, around 5 pm, Rani Prasad had gone to pick up her grandchildren. She was returning with both of them from the lift.

Both children were very scared

As soon as the lift reached the 13th floor, the power went out. After the lights went off, the lift fell straight to the seventh floor. All three children and Rani fell on the floor of the lift. Somehow all three managed to recover. When the lift reached the ground floor, Rani was not able to get out of it. Both the children were very nervous. When asked for a wheelchair from the guard, it was also not in the tower.

Rani reached her flat taking care of the children. Told relatives about the incident. When he went to the nearest hospital for treatment, he got his leg X-rayed. X-ray revealed fractures in the leg at four places. She returned to her home after getting her leg plastered.

It is alleged that the essential facilities including lift in the society are not being maintained properly. Incidents of people getting stuck in lifts have happened earlier also. Umeshwar Prasad said that no complaint has been filed in the police station yet.

Registration is not happening even after the implementation of Lift Act

Even after the implementation of the Lift Act in the district, registration is not being done. Khanapuri is being done by giving notice from the district administration. Even fines were not imposed after delay in lift registration.

Problems regarding lift continue to persist in Ecovillage 1 Society. Complaints were given to the police station several times by the people. Out of about 90 thousand lifts operated in Gautam Buddha Nagar, only 10 percent have been registered. According to the Act, it is mandatory to register lifts and escalators.

UPS was in the lift, it fell due to technical fault

There are about 97 lifts in 52 towers of Ecovillage Ek society. UPS are installed in all. In case of power failure, with the help of UPS, the lift stops at the nearest floor and opens there. The incident of lift falling after power failure happened due to technical fault.
