Jagran correspondent, Mau. District Magistrate Praveen Mishra on Monday heard the problems of women suffering from domestic violence. During this time the women burst into tears while narrating their pain. The District Magistrate was completely distressed at this and assured him that all possible help would be provided to him. For this, he directed the concerned officials to take action.

An acid victim sought help from the District Magistrate to undergo facial surgery. DM asked to provide complete information in this regard. So that necessary action can be taken for the surgical procedure.

He also asked the District Probation Officer to meet the women suffering from domestic violence and take their entire problem in writing. Apart from this, he also directed to spend the budget received under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign on programs related to women affected by domestic violence.

Along with this, instructions were given to raise awareness of women suffering from domestic violence from every platform and to organize programs related to it regularly in various tehsils and blocks of the district. Geeta Devi told that she has been fighting the case for 23 years. Despite court orders to stay at home and pay expenses, no action has been taken yet.

Poonam Singh wife Rajesh Singh told that she has been fighting the case for 17 years. Despite the court's order to stay at home and pay expenses, no action has been taken yet. Vandana's wife Saudagar told that she is still fighting the case just two months after getting married in 2016. No action has been taken yet.

Parveen Bano told that my husband left me because I give birth to only girls and not boys. Kiran told that my marriage took place in the year 2021. After a few days, my husband married another woman and when I protested, he threw me out of the house.

The District Magistrate directed the police department to immediately register an FIR on complaints of domestic violence and take strict action against the culprits. The District Magistrate said that if violence is happening to any woman around them, then they should inform the administration. The identity of the person giving the information will be kept secret.

The administration is fully committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for women. The District Magistrate made it clear that domestic violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances in the district. He has appealed to women to break their silence against violence and come forward for their safety.
