According to the police, the crime was committed by a domestic help who worked in the businessman's house. While committing the crime, the accused woman was captured in the CCTV camera. On the basis of the footage, the police arrested the accused domestic help.
In the complaint given in the police station in this case, the complainant Rajat had told the police that he lives in East Punjabi Bagh area. He has a fancy lights business. He told that on the evening of January 14, he had gone to Moti Nagar with his family for shopping. From where he reached back home at 10.30.
As soon as I entered the room, I saw that the cupboard door was open. Upon investigation, it was found that lakhs of rupees kept in white polythene were missing. There was Rs 5.63 lakh in it. Along with this, a credit card and wife's Aadhar card were also missing.
He immediately informed the police about the incident. As soon as the information was received, Punjabi Bagh police station reached the spot. The victim told that he has checked the CCTV cameras. In which he saw his old domestic help Lakshmi entering the house and after some time leaving from there. Based on the statement of the victim, the police registered a case of theft.
The police formed a team and started investigating the case. Police raided the house of accused Lakshmi and arrested her. During interrogation, the accused woman initially denied involvement in the crime but after showing the CCTV camera footage, she confessed to her crime. The police have recovered the cash at his behest.
