Arvind Kumar Singh, Jamui. Now the FRK supplier, along with the packs, rice millers and officials involved in paddy procurement, also wants a share in the hard-earned money of the farmers. Jhunjhunwala, a company supplying fortified rice, is also being accused of demanding tribute.
PACS presidents have complained to MP Arun Bharti and District Magistrate Shri Naveen. In the complaint, the PACS presidents have not clarified the complaint of demanding the amount, but have directly stated that the company has set unreasonable conditions. The presidents say that the officials of Jhunjhunwala Company of Kaimur district, which supplies fortified rice in the district, are pressurizing the millers to pay tribute in the purchase of paddy.
It is alleged that the company representatives are demanding money by sending their account numbers and UPI IDs to the millers. A miller has also shared the account details with Jagran along with blank check and QR. PACS presidents said that if the demand is not met then the supply of fortified rice is disrupted. Due to this the cyclical process of paddy procurement is being affected.

In the same meeting, it was decided that in lieu of regular supply of fortified rice, Rs 3000 per lot would have to be offered for Arwa rice and Rs 1800 per lot for Usna rice. Now this burden has shifted to the farmers through PACS.

The District Officer has also complained to the Managing Director of SFC about the working style of Jhunjhunwala Oil Mills, identified as FRK supplier in Jamui district. He has told that till January 16, only 130 quintals of FRK has been supplied.
Along with continuously contacting the representative of the concerned agency, the district office has also sent a show cause inquiry to the company. Despite this, there is continuous laxity by the FRK supplier. Due to this, the cyclical system of paddy procurement is being disrupted. A request has also been made to associate any other supplier from Jamui district.
When we talked to Ritesh Kumar Singh, an official of the company, he distanced himself from any such deal and said that he had nothing to do with it. When an attempt was made to talk to another officer, Lalit Kumar Pandey, his mobile said it was switched off after one ring.
