Jagran correspondent, Patna. In the Khadi Mahotsav organized at Gandhi Maidan, artisans from different states are exhibiting and selling their products. Sabir Ahmed Kashmiri clothes from Kashmir are being sold in the festival. Which remains the center of attraction for the people.
Pashmina shawls are available at Sabir Ahmed's stall for prices ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 2 lakh. Apart from this, woolen suits and ladies stalls are also being sold. The price of woolen suit starts from Rs 500, while the ladies suit ranges from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 only.

Khadi clothes being prepared from frame loom
The vibrant loom of weaver Jahangir Ansari, who came from Nathnagar, Bhagalpur, remains an attraction among the people in the Patna Mahotsav. Jahangir Ansari is preparing khadi scarf, saree and cloth by weaving cloth from threads with the help of hands and feet on the frame loom. Their clothes are available for sale at the festival.

He told that he has been associated with this profession for the last 30 years. Jahangir prepares both silk and khadi clothes from silk threads. There is a lot of demand for the clothes made by him during the festival.
About ten people are cooperating with him in this work. People are reaching his stall to see and understand the traditional handloom and pure Khadi products.
Live demonstration of making thread from cotton
Indu Devi of Madhubani Bhagwanpur is giving a live demonstration of the art of making thread from cotton. She prepares the thread through Kisan Charkha and Amar Charkha. Amar Charkha is considered to be the oldest charkha, due to which the finished thread is thick. The thread made from the farmer's charkha is thin.
About 300 people are associated with Indu Devi in this work. Who earn their living through this medium. He told that the women working with him in Madhubani prepare clothes with sewing machines. She also makes thread from the spinning wheel. Indu Devi has been making thread from cotton for the last 15 years. She is playing an important role in keeping this traditional art alive.
Demand for Tasar sarees is high
Mohd. in Khadi Mahotsav. Ubaidullah is selling Tasar sarees, cotton suits, dupattas and printed sarees at his stall. The price of Tasar sarees at his stall starts from Rs 4,000. Cotton suits are available from six hundred to three thousand rupees.
The price of dupattas ranges from two hundred to one thousand rupees. He has been setting up a stall in the Khadi Mahotsav continuously for the last five years. More than twenty people are associated with him. Who are earning their living through this work. The clothes prepared by them are sent to different parts of the country including Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Kerala.
