Communication Assistant, Narkatiaganj (West Champaran). Bihar Land Records Disruption: On the call of Bihar Revenue Employees Union, the new revenue employees of the region have gone on indefinite strike since Wednesday.
The strike has started having a direct impact on many important works related to land and revenue including filing-rejecting, refinement, farmer registry. However, old revenue employees are not included in this movement.
Revenue workers associated with the union said that this strike has been started from February 11 in support of 11-point demands. Their main demands include posting in home district, pay revision, service confirmation, abolition of additional charges and ensuring security and respect.
The employees allege that till now no positive initiative has been taken by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department on their demands.
Employees also said that actions like suspension without explanation, withholding of salaries and continuous work without leave in the name of Revenue Maha Abhiyan and Farmer Registry have become the cause of dissatisfaction. In protest against this they have gone on an indefinite strike.
Meanwhile, Zonal Officer Sudhanshu Shekhar said that due to the strike many works of the region will be affected. At present, the responsibility of checking the certificates issued under RTPS has been entrusted to the only old revenue employee Ashok Patel.
In the region, 13 revenue employees are responsible for a total of 27 Panchayats including the Municipal Council. Of these, 12 new employees are on strike, due to which the speed of administrative work is being affected. At present the situation is not clear regarding how long the strike will continue.
