Vikas Gupta of Lakhisarai became an example of self-reliance
Dialogue partner, Lakhisarai. Education and society have a deep relationship. Education not only gives knowledge to a person, but also makes him self-reliant and a participant in the development of society and country. In today's era, the role of skill-based education, technological innovation, research and startups has become extremely important.
By imbibing these values, Vikas Gupta of Urain village under remote Suryagarha block of Lakhisarai district has proved that if the determination is strong, then even coming from a rural background, global identity can be created. Vikas Gupta received his primary education from Advanced Middle School, Urain.
After this, he passed 12th class from High School Narottampur, Kajra (Lakhisarai) in the year 2018. Vikas, who started his studies from the village government school, completed his higher education in Civil Engineering from Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT), Bihar from the year 2019 to 2023.
In his final year of college, Vikas, along with his classmates Sandeep and Piyush, founded an ed-tech startup called EnglishYari. This startup works in the field of English speaking, professional communication and personality development.
On the strength of his technical skills, innovation and creative thinking, Vikas took this startup forward rapidly. Today Englishyari has become a company with a valuation of more than Rs 10 crore. Along with India, this platform is also active in countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, USA and UK.
Currently, more than 100 trained English trainers are associated with this digital platform and so far more than 1,00,000 learners have developed English speaking, professional skills and confidence through this platform.
A large number of youth and working professionals associated with EnglishYari have successfully passed job interviews, secured promotions and given a new direction to their careers with the help of better English communication skills. The special thing is that many women associated with this platform are becoming financially self-reliant by working as online English tutors from home, which is also promoting social and economic empowerment.
Financial support was also provided in starting this startup under the Bihar Startup Policy of Bihar Government. After this, investors from outside Bihar also expressed confidence in it. Vikas Gupta, who comes from a rural background, says that education, skills and self-reliance are the basis for the overall development of the society.
If given the right guidance and opportunity, the youth of Bihar and small towns can also create their own identity at the national and international level. He is continuously striving to make the youth confident, employable and self-reliant through education and entrepreneurship.
