Gaya Station Redevelopment: Route Of Trains Will Change For 45 Days, Coaches Will Be Reduced In Janshatabdi-Intercity

Ganga-Damodar Express will not go to Gaya due to development work.

Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. Other trains including Ganga-Damodar Express and Hatia-Purnia Court Kosi Express going from Dhanbad to Patna will not go to Gaya for 45 days. Due to the redevelopment work at Gaya station, traffic block will be imposed from February 5 to March 21.

During the block period, trains going towards Patna will run via Bandhua, Paimar, Tilaiya and Islampur and trains from North Bihar will run via Bandhua, Paimar, Tilaiya, Rajgir and Bakhtiyarpur. Along with this, due to short length of some platforms of Gaya station, coaches of many other trains including Ranchi-Patna Janshatabdi will also be reduced.

Routes of these trains will change

Dhanbad-Patna Ganga Damodar Express: From February 4 to March 21, this train will go to Patna via Bandhua, Paimar, Tilaiya and Islampur.

Patna-Dhanbad Ganga Damodar Express: During the same period, this train will start from Patna and reach Dhanbad via Islampur, Tilaiya, Paimar and Bandhua.

Purnia Court – Hatia Koshi Express train will run from 5th February to 21st March via Bakhtiyarpur, Rajgir, Tilaiya, Paimar and Bandhua.

Hatia–Purnia Court Kosi Express: During the same period, this train will run via Bandhua, Paimar, Tilaiya, Rajgir and Bakhtiyarpur.

Coaches will be reduced in these trains

Patna-Ranchi / Ranchi-Patna Janshatabdi Express will have 4 less coaches of second seating from 5th February to 21st March. Earlier 17 coaches were used, now only 13 coaches will be added.

🔸 Patna-Howrah / Howrah-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express 4 coaches of second seating will be reduced.

From Howrah: 5 February–21 March

From Patna: 6 February – 22 March

Dhanbad-Patna / Patna-Dhanbad Intercity Express will have 2 less coaches of General from 6th February to 21st March. Earlier 5 general coaches were used, now only 3 coaches will be added.

Barkakana–Patna/Patna–Barkakana Palamu Express will have 2 less general coaches from 4th February to 21st March. Now only 3 general coaches will be installed instead of 5.

Many trains originating from Gaya will now run from DDU

Most of the trains running from Gaya will now run from Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction (DDU). These include:

Problems for passengers may increase before Holi

Holi festival is in the first week of March. During this period, there is huge crowd in the trains of Bihar every year. In such a situation, diversion of trains and reduction in the number of coaches can further increase the problems of passengers.
