Migration of migratory birds and tourism potential
The Sagra Wetland situated at Lodheshwar Mahadeva, the main pilgrimage center of North India, echoes with the chirping of migratory birds. Environmentalist Naveen Banodha's study revealed that during the cold season, a large number of migratory birds travel thousands of miles from Australia, Denmark, Siberia, Russia, Japan and Tibet. Out of 570 bird species, there are 250 species here. Nine rare and exotic wild animals are migratory in the country.
Along with UP, the wealth of biodiversity in Barabanki is getting enriched. Along with having all the major wetlands gazetted, the proposal for Kamarwa Wetland in One District One Product has been sent to the government. Most of the migratory birds reside here, hence there are strong possibilities of realizing the concept of developing the wetland as a beautiful tourist destination.Akashdeep Badhawan, DFO
