Revenue Target Of Jharkhand Excise Department Will Increase By 10%, Last Date For Depositing License Fee Is 7 February.

Revenue target of product department will increase by 10 percent in the coming financial year

State Bureau, Ranchi. The Excise and Prohibition Department is going to increase its current revenue target by ten percent for the upcoming financial year 2026-27. At present the revenue target of the department is Rs 3885.11 crore, which has to be increased. In view of this, the Commissioner of Product has corresponded with the Assistant Commissioner of Product and Superintendent of Product of all the districts.

In view of this increase in revenue, the Assistant Commissioner of Excise and Superintendent of Excise of all the districts have been asked to receive the difference amount of license fee, advance excise tax and security deposit of the excise shops in their area through online method or bank draft by February 7 and inform the Commissioner of Excise. After depositing this amount, if any licensee wants to deposit the e-bank guarantee, then it has to be obtained before April 30, 2026.

It is noteworthy that the retail sale of liquor in the state is being done by private hands. The state government is being compensated with revenue, but most of the shopkeepers have expressed dissatisfaction with the profit they are getting from the sale of liquor.

Many have even decided to surrender their shops, but product officials are assuring them that the sale of liquor will increase in the coming times, so they should remain rest assured. In view of the problems being faced by the liquor traders of the state, very soon a delegation of the Retail Liquor Shopkeepers Association will meet the Secretary of the Excise and Prohibition Department and explain their problems.
