Health Minister Mangal Pandey formally inaugurated the workshop “Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Bihar Conclave” on behalf of the Health Department.
Jagran correspondent, Patna. Bihar has achieved a leading position in the country in the field of digital health services. Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that with the effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), digital health services are no longer limited to urban areas only, but are successfully reaching rural areas as well.
Formally inaugurating the one-day workshop “Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Bihar Conclave 2.0” organized by Bihar Health Protection Committee, Health Department, the Health Minister said that the objective of this conclave is to discuss with all the stakeholders on the future action plan and strategy for effective implementation of ABDM in the state, so that common citizens can get simple, transparent and accessible health services.
The Health Minister said that Bihar has achieved first position at the national level by generating more than 5.26 crore tokens under the scan-and-share system, which is a historic achievement for the state. Along with this, so far 6.11 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (Abha) IDs have been created in the state, on the basis of which Bihar is at fourth place in the country.
Bihar has reached third position at the national level by generating more than 6.17 crore Electronic Health Records (EHR). Said that the “Bhavya” project operated under the Chief Minister Digital Health Scheme has been awarded the Innovation Award in the Global Digital Health Summit (GDHS) in the year 2024.
He said that 47,786 health service providers have been registered under the Health Professional Registry (HPR) and 29,288 health institutions have been registered under the Health Facility Registry (HFR). There are 7,835 government hospitals registered under the Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS) and an incentive amount of Rs 37.60 crore has been claimed so far, which is the highest in the country.
Health Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said that Bihar is no longer just a participating state in the schemes, but has joined the states leading the country in digital health services. Through Abha ID, patients will no longer need to wander from hospital to hospital with paper reports and slips.
Shashank Shekhar Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Bihar Health Protection Committee, said that under ABDM, digital health identity is being provided to the citizens, due to which their health records are becoming secure, integrated and digitally available.
Former National President of IMA Dr. Sahajanand Singh, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Himanshu Sharma, Joint Secretary Vikram Pagaria, Special Secretary Tshering Y Bhutia, Project Director Sumit Kumar were also present in the program.
