The special thing is that in some wards the electoral contest is more in discussion due to family relations than political parties. A unique scene has been seen from ward number 14, where mother and son have entered the election field face to face. Both Mosarat Praveen and his son Asif Zafar have filed nomination from this ward.
The direct contest between mother and son remains the center of attraction among voters. There is a strong discussion among the local people as to whom the people of the ward will elect as their representative. Experience or youthful enthusiasm or withdrawal of nomination will be taken into consideration. A unique example of family politics is being seen in ward number 19 also.
Here daughter-in-law Neha Kumari and her aunt-in-law Renu Devi are contesting the elections face to face. Both have filed nominations with their respective supporters. The electoral clash between two members of the same family has increased the stir in the entire ward.
Due to these family rivalries, Gumla Municipal Council elections are not limited to just development and issues, but equations of relationships and politics have also come into discussion. Voters are also confused as to which candidate to support irrespective of family ties.
