Registrar Dr. Vishwas Tripathi was removed from the post on Monday amid investigation into large-scale recruitment rigging and fee scams from students in Gautam Buddha University (GBU). Complaints about rigging in recruitment in the university and scams in student fees were made to the Lokayukta, for which orders were issued to appear before Registrar Dr. Vishwas Tripathi on January 9 along with all the records.
Meanwhile, suddenly on Monday, Vice Chancellor Rana Pratap issued orders to remove Registrar Vishwas Tripathi from his post. In his place, Prof. of School of Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences. Chandra Kumar has been made the in-charge registrar. Complaint about rigging in recruitments in GBU and scam in students' fees was made to the Lokayukta, in which on December 26, a letter was issued by the Lokayukta to the GBU management, ordering them to submit the records by January 9. Students have raised their voice regarding this issue many times in the union, but no action has ever been taken. Now the matter gained momentum after the intervention of Lokayukta and demand for records.
Questions are being raised on the role of many officers appointed to high positions in the university. Vice Chancellor Rana Pratap, deputy registrar and accountant Sandeep Kumar were charged, sources said. Whose report was to be presented to the Registrar before the Lokayukta on January 9.
Registrar accused of being forcibly removed from his post
Registrar Vishwas Tripathi, who was removed from the post, says that as per the orders of the Lokayukta, he was to present himself with the records on January 9, but the Vice Chancellor removed him from his post on Monday. He alleged that after the Lokayukta's letter was issued, he issued a letter to the concerned departments and accounts not to tamper with the files related to new recruitment and to keep the files intact, but the same was rejected.
At the same time, many files were also refused. He alleged that he was removed from the post as part of a conspiracy. Somewhere he has been removed from the post for creating obstruction in the investigation of Lokayukta. There was no time limit on his term of office, he could also approach the court to protect his interests.
Student council warns of protest on January 5
Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha District President Mohit Nagar, in a press conference on Monday itself, has alleged rigging in recruitment and fees for various posts in GBU on a large scale. He says that approximately Rs 20-25 lakh has been absorbed by the officers holding high posts as children's fees.
He had claimed that the appointment of Registrar Vishwas Tripathi to the post was done without standards, the matter regarding which is pending in the court. It is alleged that the university had kept him on the post by changing the government order. Apart from this, an officer has recruited relatives and acquaintances without qualifications, including making a woman the dean.
Besides, serious allegations like sexual exploitation of women and girl students have also been made against senior officials of the university. He has demanded that the university management make the balance sheet public. He also warned that if no action was taken in the matter by January 5, he would start a protest against the management. People like Prashant Bhati, Krishna Rawal, Ankit Nagar, Prince Bhati, Prashant Verma etc. were present on this occasion.
